Riley Weston

APACHE JUNCTION AZ (IFS) -- Riley Weston, one of the most talented person's for our time.  She sings, she writes, she plays, performs, and that is just for the music industry.  When it comes to movies, television, and documentaries, she also directs, writes screenplays, scripts, acts and produces films.  She is a major heavyweight in the entertainment industry.  Make no mistake about it.

It seems like a yesterday when Riley was very active at Lifetime Television and WETV (Women's Entertainment Television), when she took the time from her busy schedule to cut several KDTN Radio One Country station ID's for us.  We played them for years, and we can not thank her enough for helping us push our small station to the top of the internet playlists.

It was back in the day when internet radio was just a novelty and terrestrial radio ruled the world, and there was nothing in-between.  It was also the year that Microsoft and Apple decided to join in the adventure and purchase internet radio stations.  They did not start theirs from scratch like the others, they went out and purchased existing platforms and changed them around to suit their needs and markets.

While going through the musical archives, we came upon an interview that was given to us by Riley back in 2010, and it was just so impressive and it still stands up today, so we just had to play it as a repeat performance without the DJ's introduction into each question.  Just straight and no chaser. -KHS

Riley Weston has worked as an actress and writer on many television shows and feature films. She is now living in Nashville, focusing on her music career.
She starred in the hit TV movie, What About Your Friends, written for the TV drama, Felicity as well as starred as Story Zimmer in the critically acclaimed, Drawing the Line. She quickly grabbed the attention of Touchstone Pictures and Television who signed Riley to acting and writing development deal. Riley followed her deal with writing the feature film, Damaged for Artisan Entertainment. She then wrote and starred in the highly rated ABC television movie, Christmas at Water’s Edge.
She went on to film a cameo role in the horror film, The Cutting Room. Riley created the hit web-series, Being Bailey, for GoTV Networks and followed that writing Dark Beauty, a television movie for Lifetime, which continues to air. Her feature film Summer at Dad’s was then optioned by Revolution Studios.
Riley wrote the TV movie The Nanny Express for Hallmark. The movie aired as the 2nd highest-rated movie for the network! It stars Vanessa Marcil, Stacey Keach and Dean Stockwell. Riley also wrote the movie Always and Forever for the Hallmark Channel, starring Dean McDermott {Mr. Tori Spelling} Rena Sofer, and Barbara Eden {I Dream of Jeannie}. Both movies are currently airing on The Hallmark Channel.
Riley filmed a supporting lead in the indie feature film, Footprints. She plays a disturbed runaway in Hollywood who dresses up as Super Girl. It was named "One of the 10 Best Films so Far this Year" by the Chairman of the NY Film Critics Circle.
One of her scripts, before i go, received much attention, but without Riley's vision remaining intact. Ever determined, Riley knew that to keep the control, she needed a book of the same name and story. So, she wrote her debut nove, before i go! She went on to receive THREE awards for before i go: an IPPY Award for Story Teller of the Year, the Grand Prize at The New York Book Festival as well as the top honor as Best Fiction. And lastly, Riley received a Book Sense Pick Award. Riley is now meeting with investors to film the movie version of before i go, based on a script she wrote. She recently finished writing the theme song to the movie! The novel is now available on Kindle.
Her TV movie, DAMAGED, just premiered in January. Check Lifetime for upcoming airings!
While wearing many hats, Riley continues to act in roles she's passionate about, and write when the idea won't leave her alone! Lastly, you'll find Riley walking the Susan G. Komen 3 day 60 mile Breast Cancer walk in Philly for her sister every year. She is also the live entertainment after walking many, many miles. In 2014, she raised over $24,581!
Riley is busy in Nashville co-writing with amazing hit songwriters and recording her original music. She also travels to Alabama and Florida once a month for a week of shows. She is most excited about opening up for one of her favorite duos, Montgomery Gentry!
