Serenity…The Princess of Southern R&B and Soul

Passionate. Powerful. Silky. That is the best way to describe the vocals of 15-year-old Serenity. With a gift for playing the keys and writing her own songs, Serenity is able to express her thoughts, emotions and experiences through the art of music. Put Alicia Keys, Beyonce, Taylor Swift and Chrisette Michelle in a blender, and you will have a concoction named Serenity. As a songbird born in Jackson, MS, she has been crowned the Princess of Southern R&B and Soul.

Serenity didn't just wake up and decided to be a superstar. She was destined for it. At birth, she was deemed a miracle child, being born at 4lbs 2oz. After fighting against collapsing lungs for two weeks, her health began to improve and her pastor prophesied that Serenity would be a singer. He was right. Serenity's mom discovered that she could sing when she heard her singing the "Barney Song" in the backseat at 18 months.

Serenity's journey to stardom started at age 7 when she joined her church's choir. She showcased at several talent shows in Mississippi and Memphis, TN. She even had the opportunity to perform at the Apollo. The producers loved her and confirmed that she is destined to be a star. Unfortunately, the show was cancelled and never aired, but that didn't stop Serenity from shining bright. She sharpened her performance skills by enrolling in dance, vocal lessons and community theater. She took what she learned and landed the lead role as Dorothy in the musical play "The Wiz". Her love for theater grew even stronger after performing off Broadway with  A Class Act Studios for kids and teens in New York City. She even has her own record label, SOAR Music Group.

In 2013, Serenity's journey took an interesting turn for the best. She had gone to a Mindless Behavior concert and was introduced to RCA recording artist, Jacob Latimore. When he hit the stage, she was in awe of his performance and ability to dance and sing at the same time. After the concert, fate intervened and Serenity bumped into Jacob Latimore at the gas station. She had a chance to take a picture and ask him advice on getting into the entertainment business. He was gracious to respond and give sound advice. It was then that she contracted "Jacob Fever". She took the inspiration from her celebrity crush and co-wrote a song with a producer in Memphis about him.  "The music video was hit so many times on YouTube; Serenity started looking like a star herself," said Mearl Purvis of Fox13 News in Memphis,TN. The song landed her an opportunity to open up for Jacob Latimore at a concert in Memphis.

What is Serenity up to? Well her journey has just gotten better because she has just released the new single "Jacob" the Remix ft. Jacob Latimore himself!
