Kamala was on The View this week to talk about Trump’s government shutdown, speaking truth to power under the current Administration, and to share some personal stories from her new book.
During the conversation, Kamala was asked about what it takes to break barriers as a woman. Here was her response:
“With each woman who gains success, there is a greater appreciation and understanding of the capacity and the breadth and depth of who women are and what we can do. But there are still barriers to be broken...and breaking barriers doesn't mean you start on one side and you show up on the other side. There's breaking involved. And breaking is painful. It hurts. Sometimes you get cut. But it will be worth it. Breaking barriers is not easy but it is worth it.” — Kamala Harris
Thanks for all that you do,
— Team Kamala

P.S. At the start of the interview, Kamala tells the hosts of The View how to pronounce her name: it’s “comma,” like the punctuation mark, with a “la” at the end. In case you were wondering 😉
