Cody Joe Hodges

Indie country recording artist Cody Joe Hodges (CJH Music Group), a former Army Musician and power lineman, rolls out his new single, “Roll That Way,"* to country radio! [August 4, 2017 Impact date/CDX Vol. 652 (08/03/17)/PlayMPE (08/04/17)].

The current release follows his third career single (titled “Hellbent On Loving You”) which charted on the MusicRow Country Breakout Chart in August 2016.

Written by hit songcrafters Rick Huckaby (“Muddy Water”/ Trace Adkins) and Bernie Nelson (“Daddy Never Was The Cadillac Kind”/ Confederate Railroad), and produced by Bobby Randall (Sawyer Brown), the track is a playful, mid-tempo expression of adoring admiration and a confession to a hard-working, independent woman who’s every man’s dream.

Signifying the Texan’s heritage, the track opens with whining pedal steel and bending electric guitar licks. With an honest, disarming vocal style, Hodges highlights his ability to kick out smooth vocals with raspy tones adding depth and complexity to his performance.

In keeping with the artist's country roots, Hodges speaks to generations new and old with a contemporary tune that's well suited for the dance floor.

"I learned early on that it’s just as important in a relationship to work hard as it is to work hard at having fun. The storyline is from a man’s perspective, recognizing the sex appeal of a hard-working, independent woman," said Hodges.

Cody Joe is a former member of the U.S. Army Military Intelligence. Stationed in Ft. Carson, CO for activity duty, his musical talents welcomed an invitation to audition for the Army vocal ensemble group, "Harmony In Motion.” Landing the audition, Hodges toured with the group performing at various, large entertainment events and private military functions.

Upon his honorable discharge (2009), Cody Joe worked as a power lineman.  Four long years later, Hodges elected to pursue his music career as a full-time endeavor; the performer travels across the country to promote his music and entertain fans with an admiration for both traditional country and Texas music.

The track will be available via all major digital retail and streaming outlets (Amazon/iTunes/ Pandora/Rhapsody/Spotify) on August 4, 2017; Dan Hagar (Mach 3 Promotions) will spearhead the radio promotion campaign.

Cody Joe Hodges’ music  has been described as “real country”, influenced by some of the country greats from the late 70’s and 80’s – George Strait, Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, and Willie Nelson (just to name a few).

With his thrilling, high-energy performance, it is rare that you will find someone that reaches across the aisle to both the old and new generations, but Cody Joe Hodges does it every time.  Cody Joe Hodges’ voice ranges from silky smooth to raspy seduction.  Cody Joe’s sound is something out of the past, and his writing style of the here and now.

Cody Joe Hodges started playing music at an early age, but it wasn’t until his senior year in high school that he became serious about his art.  Cody Joe wrote his first song, “Daddy’s Dream”, his freshman year, while living in the dorms at Texas A&M University.

Not long after graduating from Texas A&M in 2006, the young talent spent a short stay in Nashville.  Afterwards, deciding to “get away from music” and move back to Texas and join the Army.

While in the Army, (duty station, Fort Carson), he was playing music on a street corner in Colorado Springs with a homeless man, when he was discovered by an Army affiliate.   He was then asked to audition for the group "Harmony in Motion," a vocal ensemble based out of Fort Carson, Colorado.  After auditioning, they extended an offer to join them, and Cody Joe began traveling across America playing for large entertainment venues.

Upon discharge, his dad had a talk with him about a career in the power line business as a lineman. This sounded like something exciting and also a great opportunity to draw upon for songwriting, so he joined the energy field in 2010.  At the same time, he started a band called “The Linemen”, and released his first album in 2012.

In the spring of 2013, Cody Joe decided to exit out of the power line business and focus energy on his music as a solo artist, along with whatever plans God had for him.  It has been a blessing thus far.  With his first recording contract signed in Dec. ’13.  Cody Joe Hodges released "The Good Stuff" album through an Oklahoma based record label, Tate Music Group, in November 2014.

In 2014, Cody Joe teamed up with Lamon Records, a Sony independent label out of Nashville, to record a four song EP entitled "One More Drink".  After successfully gaining airplay and chart status with his singles, he decided to release his first Christmas album, “Down Home Christmas”.  The Christmas album was released in Oct 2016 and has 5 traditional country songs and 3 originals.

Cody Joe lives life on the road, constantly touring and trying to get his music heard.  He also knows the road to Nashville well. He takes that road every other month from Texas to write songs and network amongst the industry community on Music Row.  From humble beginnings, Cody Joe Hodges brings the drive and determination to attain National results.

Maybe April

Maybe April is a southeastern female-fronted trio of acoustic musicians who play country and folk-pop. As a unit they pass around vocals, guitar and mandolin giving each song throughout the set a distinct personality.

The girls are equivocally stunning vocalists, blending together energetic, but soft harmonies. Their obvious friendship pours out from the home and creative drive they share.

Though young, the women of Maybe April have a serious commitment to mature storytelling and use country music to say what needs to be heard.

Reagan Boggs

Reagan recorded her first album titled Somewhere In The Middle at age seventeen - one which she quickly admits, she'd like to see erased from history - "That is blackmail material; I sounded like Cher on steroids, but they were all my songs," she laughs.

She soon set off from her hometown of Pound, VA, to perform and made her first trip to Nashville. There she displayed her songwriting ability at the renowned Bluebird Café, sharing the floor with Skip Ewing, Paul Overstreet, and David Gibson.

Two years later, Reagan caught the attention of The Hoodoos - a blues-oriented band from Kingsport, TN. She spent the next four years displaying her versatile vocals with the group, as the band packed venues throughout the Mountain Empire.

Although she enjoyed performing alongside the talented musicians, with every blues cover, the desire to perform her own material grew stronger. In 2002 she assembled Carbon Blue, a four-piece project, to record her work. The group recorded, I Can Handle Crazy, in January of 2004.

The album represents a very young Reagan Boggs blending her country style of writing with her experience as a blues singer.
