Rueben James

Reuben James

Biography:
Marked With a Lion

Reuben James' album was in the Top Twenty at Barnes & Noble on Camp Creek Parkway.
13 Jun 07 He went on a promotion tour in the carribean. He was in Negril Jamaica Pleased to see they were playing his songs in the streets and screaming his name.
18 July 07 While visiting Barbados, it took every thing he had to keep his cool, even the head of customs was trying to get a copy of the album.
19 July 07Back in his hometown of St Vincent Reuben truly felt celebrity status. Everywhere he went some one knew his name. They were playing his music so much he got tired of it.
On Young Island they were playing his songs in the restaurant.
On various other Islands he got a similar response.
Reuben has performed at countless open mic nights around the city of Atlanta, all too massive praise from the audience as well as the management, staff, and event coordinators. It was as a result of this that he secured his first opportunity to open for a major artist. On May 6, he had the esteemed privilege of being among the opening for a reggae legend called Elephant Man at club Aquarium in Atlanta Ga
Reuben James is a new age reggae artist that expresses his real life issues and trials in a way that he hopes many others can relate to. He feels that if he can just change one life through his lyrics in a positive way then it is worth all that he has had to sacrifice. In the Rastafarian community he has been likened to a young Bob Marley with hip hop in his blood and island in his soul. His music comes from the heart and is a pure reflection of his feelings based on his life experiences.

Reuben’s music is a reggae sound unlike any that has come before it; he likens it to being like a new way of life without boundaries and race. Reuben is a man balancing on the scales of life, love/hate. He loves what god has given him and hates what this world has taken away. However he does not get disheartened, he looks for the lesson and then expresses it for the masses through his gift. In this way he serves his purpose.
He can sometimes appear as a bit of a paradox because of his diverstiy, but anyone who knows him know that that is just one of the games that life plays on anyone who has had the wonderful misfortune of having been raised in two countries. He is sensible and senseless he speaks American to Americans but when he sings you feel the Island in his heart and you know that it is something that can not be faked. This Island that is in his soul stems form his roots as a child raised on an Island, and though he was born in America you can no more tell him then the people he grew up with that he is not from that Island. St. Vincent is his home, California is just his birthplace.

Cellarscape

Cellarscape

Biography:
"Crushing. Absorbing. Gentle. Uplifting. Relentless. Awesome."
(Steve McCormick – BBC Radio)

Cellarscape is singer, drummer & guitarist Paul Terry's alt-acoustic moniker that he has been writing, recording and performing under since 2003. Fusing multi-layered haunting vocals with unexpected and angular drumming, fragile but anthemic guitars, plus, hypnotic orchestrations, Cellarscape songs bristle with an undeniably cinematic presence...

... So it comes as no surprise that Paul has a burgeoning sideline in music for independent films. Since 1999, he has also written the soundtracks for all the short films and feature work of British writer/director Paul Williams, including the award-winning 2001 short 'Mightier' and 2006 feature film 'The Wake'. The 2009 Empire Film Awards also used a song from 'The Wake's original soundtrack as part of their recent promo campaign, a perfect event to count down to the new album on June 1, 2009...

Back in 2006, Cellarscape's first release was the 'Copilot' EP ["...songs of desolation that echo with mood and meaning..." – County Times], a collection of fragile but razor-sharp songs, that Isles FM made their 'The Sound for January', playing the EP's passionate 'Static' every day that month. An iTunes review also held the EP in high regard, stating 'Copilot' "...is for those who are looking for the deeper meaning to our frustrating, dysfunctional and wonderful world..."

Then, 2007's progressive 'Fifth Phoenix' EP followed ["...breathes an intimacy that is all too rare in new music..." – Control Yourself]. From the intense opener 'A Brief Time Of Bullets', to the yearning harmonies of 'Kerosene' and the doomy, cascading loops of 'Transition Sickness', Rockworld TV described Cellarscape as "...Truly a force to be reckoned with: the real deal, self-made, self-taught and with the drive and talent to back it up. Watch this space, people..."

Now, SkyBabyRecords presents 'Animation, Suspension' (out now). This new album sees Cellarscape's epic arrangements go stratospheric. Addictive guitar hooks and soaring vocal harmonies latch onto frenetic drum breaks, eerie loops and brooding cellos.

After the deceptively blissed-out intro of 'Crawlspace', this eclectic album's fifth gear kicks in with the triumphant 'Target Acquired'. The sinister stylings of 'The Creek' and current schizophrenic single 'You Got The Girl' (featuring extra harmonies from Apes, Pigs & Spacemen's Paul Miro), highlight Cellarscape’s love of tonal changes, all the while keeping the music’s core emotionally-charged.

And with the caffeine hit of 'Shadowfight', the dark and ominous 'Where Vanishing Points Dissolve' and 'Treading Water' through to vocal-only ‘December Moon’, the haunting intimacy of 'Patience & Zara', and the insanely catchy battle-cry of ‘Minor Fractures’, 'Animation, Suspension' is a shifting tapestry of moods and images that commands your attention throughout its 15 unpredictable tracks.

Greg Foresman

Greg Foresman

Biography:
Bolder and more free spirited than ever, Greg Foresman walks down paths both deeply spiritual and grounded in humanity on his newest CD, KODIAK. Filled with songs about searching, getting close to, and sometimes finding answers to life’s toughest questions. Kodiak is a reflection of Greg’s thirty-plus years of traveling down the road of hard knocks, always with a guitar strapped around his neck.

The lyrical themes on Kodiak range from the advantages of living simply (Something I Can Use and Backwoods Country Home) to an attempted understanding of what goes on inside the head of a mass murderer (Suicide Bomber).

This is the fourth solo CD Greg has released since disbanding The Hammerheads in 1993, and he continues his penchant for being stylistically eclectic. Musically, Kodiak runs the gamut from barn-burning rockers such as “Soul Survivor” to sinewy funk classics as in “I Know Better” and finishing off with the lovely acoustic guitar ditty, “Big Sky Country”.

Best known as a guitar virtuoso, Greg continues his duties as Martina McBride’s touring axe man and Nashville session ace when he’s not pursuing his own musical horizons.

Jeff Mettee

Jeff Mettee

Biography:
A product of Cleveland, OH, as a youngster Mettee upheld the longstanding tradition of not paying attention in class. Instead, he spent his youth flirting with a wide variety of musical influences. His first musical loves included the Clash, David Bowie, and the English Beat on one hand, and the likes of Aretha Franklin, Otis Redding, and Marvin Gaye on the other. During the past eight years, Mettee has continued to write and record music with various acts as well as direct songwriting programs for students. Recent adventures have included The Atlas Fret project with Jim Gardner, founder of Junior James and the Late Guitar, and sitting in with the Asheville, NC punk rock dynamo The Gin Fits.

Pie Boys Flat

Pie Boys Flat

Biography:
3 dudes met in Virginia circa 1998.

5 years later they found themselves together again in NYC; paying rent with the cash they made wailing harmonies on the subway platforms with a djembe and an acoustic guitar.

5 years later they find themselves pushing full speed ahead, through the uncertainty of a rapidly changing music industry, against the current of economic crisis, toward their third and, undoubtedly, best album.

Writing, rehearsing, and touring constantly, the 3 dudes from VA continue to develop their unique approach to Reggae and Rock, and evolve into the li'l ol' band from the big ol' city.

Pie Boys Flat.

In search of the thickest Island Grooves, the deepest Jungle Beats, and, the always classic, Rock.

Leland Harding III

Leland Harding III

Biography:
When your name is followed by "III" it's a sure bet that you've got a legacy to be proud of. For Leland Harding III, that legacy is music. Now, after years of recording and engineering for some of the most talented, up and coming artists in the Midwest, Leland Harding has taken his singing, songwriting and musicianship to the other side of the microphone and is gearing up to bring you his debut album, "Turn To Me". The traditional country sounds of "Turn To Me" will take you back to a time when George Jones, Buck Owens, Merle Haggard and Marty Robbins ruled the radio and remind you why you love country music. Leland Harding III is a singer, songwriter and musician from Watertown, SD. Even as a young boy, his interest in music was evident and his gift of singing and playing the drums came naturally. As soon as he learned his first two chords on the guitar he received at age 16, he discovered his love of songwriting, too. As a teenager, those first chords spawned rock songs and fueled his interest in all genres of music. But it was the pivotal year 1999 when Leland had the exciting opportunity to showcase his music at the famed Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, that his country roots took hold and he found his renewed passion for traditional country. Leland Harding III has more than a name to live up to, there's also a musical legacy. Music was always part of the Harding household. In fact, his parents met "on the road" when their musical tours crossed paths. His father, Leland (Skip) Harding II, toured as guitarist and steel guitarist with the famed, "Harold White Show" throughout the 70's. Leland's mother Rita was a recording artist with Tennessee Records. In the 80's his family formed the group, "The River Oaks Band" which toured throughout the Midwest until the band's retirement in 1985. In addition to singing, playing and songwriting, Leland is also an independent record producer and engineer. As the proprietor of Gopher Studios in Watertown, SD, Leland has had the opportunity to work with a myriad of talented bands and individual artists who appreciate his perspective as an artist as well as a "techie". His success with the production of other artists inspired him to take the leap and move to the other side of the microphone. Leland's debut album of original songs and tracks co-written with recording artist, CC Hagen, is schedule for release this fall. Leland's goal for the album, "Turn To Me", is a fresh new sound with traditional country flair that's reminiscent of the melodies that made you fall in love with country music.
