Lane Davis

I've been involved in music since I was 3, when I sang along with Mario Lanza's "Be My Love".  Then came nine years of piano starting at age 6, vocal soloist for my highschool at 16, local TV appearances in Ohio through my 19th birthday at which time I was drafted.  Serving in the Army, my musical skills earned a place in Special Services and later the Military Police.

During those war years, I learned to play drums and horn, and returned home in 1968 to continue playing in small bands, including a lounge rock act where I traveled extensively throughout the U.S.  Married life put a temporary halt to my music but I bought a Strat and learned to play blues guitar in spite if it, but I never forgot my Sinatra roots.  Although I played with a few bands, my original song writing continued.

By 2008, after discovering a movie while cleaning my Mom's effects out, I wrote Steel Toed Shoes.  My restoration art career does take precident to music but the band has come through in spite of the pandemic.  Enjoy!

To write a song is one thing, but to have lived it is another.  Steel Toed Shoes is the story of Lane's coming of age, with a little help from his Father who worked on the railroad and had bought him a pair of shoes with steel toes.

Factor 11 (Eleven)

Factor 11 Releases Time Machine. Taking on the PC Culture.

f11

About the Band: Factor 11 incorporates the diverse musical talents of its members, resulting in guitar driven harmony rock. It’s original music is thematic and challenging, covering issues from terrorism to true love. The band does not take itself too seriously though, as is evident by its soon to be famous song: Good Looking People Drink Wine. Bad Looking People Drink Beer.

Live Performances: In live performances, Factor 11 covers some of the best eclectic classic rock songs ever recorded and blends in own original music.  The band puts on a great show and has a fresh sound that appeals to a wide variety of people. Factor 11 has played in venues throughout California, including:  The San Mateo County Fair ( San Mateo, CA),  San Rafael, Downtown Farmers Market Festivals (San Rafael, CA) , Hopmonk Tavern (Novato, CA), Calistoga Custom Car Classic Festival (Calistoga, CA). Marinwood, CA Octoberfest (Marinwood, CA), Venus Festival Vina Moda Winery (Murphy’s CA), Trek Winery (Novato, CA) 19 Broadway (San Anselmo, CA)  to name a few. The Band has toured as far away as New York. The band focuses on playing at county fairs, festivals and small clubs. Factor 11 always gets people up and singing and dancing.

Musical Influences: The band’s musical influences start in the 60s (where good classic rock started) and keeps going into the present. Influencing artists are: Beatles, Tom Petty, Joe Walsh, U-2, Hank Williams, Joe Walsh, DC Talk, and Beach Boy harmonies.

True Diversity: Factor 11 band members generally do not like the same music. The bass guy loves country. Lead guitar is a rocker.  Rhythm is a choir director. Drummer is power rock.   With a diverse group like this, it is surprising that the band stays together.  The essential ingredient is that band members like each other, respect each other’s’ musical differences and blend them into the band’s performances and recordings. Check out the Live Performance set list at www.factor11.org/ and you’ll see what I mean.

Extracurricular Activities: Factor 11 band members reach out to the community and team up with local interdenominational church groups to connect with incarcerated youth at the Marin County California juvenile hall facility.  Music can be a “bridge” to providing hope for a better life and freedom from the repeat cycles of crime and drug addiction.  We meet chronic felons, as well as kids who just stayed out too late, in Juvenile Hall. The stories are very interesting. What is most satisfying is meeting some of these kids, impromptu on the street, or  in a supermarket, when they come up to you and ask if you remember them and then tell you how their lives have changed for the better.

Factor 11 consists of: Spencer Scheer, songwriter, vocals and rhythm and lead guitar; John Coons, vocals, rhythm guitar and sweet harmonies; Jerry Thompson, drummer, and Tony Leng, bass guitar.. Note:  Some of our kids used to play in the band, but they got smart, grew up, went to college or to work and for the most part moved away. They still come back on occasion to see the band.

Discography: Factor –11 released a CD called It’s in the Blood in 2004. Containing the single Mystery called Love, in 2004.  The single received radio play throughout the U.S. and reached #29 on the New Music Weekly AC Chart in June 04. There is nothing cooler than hearing your music on the radio!

Factor 11’s  released Time Machine. in December 25, 2016 and is set to release 23 and Me in 2020. We put both new and old on this latest release so you can see where the band came from and where it is going, Factor 11 brings its guitar driven harmony rock sound with a dagger aimed at the PC Culture and some alternative bluegrass to soooth the soul. With songs addressing workplace oppression, political correctness and the known fact that good looking people drink wine and bad looking people drink beer, there are no sacred cows here!

Marshall

  Marshall

Band Description

This solo artist from Katy Texas combines 90's country with modern recording styles. The soaring vocal style and honest, relatable lyrics will stick with you and make you want to hear it just one more time, every time.

Country music fans only need to listen to a few lines from singer and songwriter Marshall
before pinpointing his musical influences. The North Carolina native, who found a
welcoming new home in Texas, has spent a lifetime admiring the likes of George Strait,
Waylon Jennings, and Randy Rogers. Marshall has toured and performed in six states and
has opened for nationally known artists Josh Thompson and David Allen Coe. His first
single, “Tailspin”, reached #87 on the T3R chart.

Marshall’s latest single, “Tell Me A Secret,” marks his second release to Texas terrestrial
country radio. The song was co-written by Marshall, Brantley Gilbert lead guitarist Noah
Henderson, and Lindsey Henson. “Tell Me A Secret” explores the barriers that must be
broken for a surface-level friendship with a romantic interest to make the leap to
something more intimate. In addition to its radio release, the new single is available for
streaming on all major platforms, including Apple Music, Spotify, and Amazon Music.

Away from music, Marshall can be found reveling in the ways of the Lone Star State. A
lifelong barbeque enthusiast, he enjoys combining the basics of the craft he learned in his
native North Carolina with the amazing and expansive barbeque history that can only be
found in Texas. Marshall is also an outdoor enthusiast who loves spending his free time
hunting and fishing.
